How much does a website cost in Kerala in 2026?

What a website costs in Kerala in 2026: site types, cost drivers, indicative INR market ranges, hidden costs after launch and how to compare quotes fairly.

Why the question has no single answer

Ask three web agencies in Kerala what a website costs and you will get three different numbers, and each may be right for the scope it imagined. A website is not one product. It is a set of pages, content, design, forms, integrations and hosting, and the cost follows those choices. This guide explains the main types of site, the factors that drive the price, indicative market ranges for 2026, and the costs that continue after launch.

The ranges in this article are indicative market ranges for custom web work in India. They are not prices from Enarges Labs, and we do not publish fixed rates in an article because the right figure depends on the brief. Our process is to send a written proposal with a fixed cost within 48 hours of a brief.

Four types of website

A brochure site presents a business in a few pages: home, services, about, contact and a handful of supporting pages. It needs clear copy, good photography and a contact form that works. A corporate site adds depth, such as case studies, a blog, team profiles, several service pages and a content management system, so staff can publish without a developer.

An ecommerce site sells products online. It needs a catalogue, variants, search, a cart, checkout, payment gateways, shipping rules, tax settings and order management. Most of its cost sits in those integrations and in testing checkout.

A web application is software that runs in the browser. It may include user accounts, dashboards, bookings, customer portals or a SaaS product. It carries the widest cost range, because it includes data models, permissions, business logic, admin tools and ongoing development, not only pages.

What moves the cost

Four factors explain most of the gap between a low quote and a high one. The first is the number of page templates, not the number of pages. Ten pages built on three templates cost less than ten pages that each need a custom layout. The second is design. A template with your brand colours and copy is quicker than a custom identity with motion, illustration or 3D work.

The third is integrations. A form that sends an email is simple. A form that creates a lead in your CRM, checks a booking calendar and triggers an automated reply needs API work, error handling and testing. The fourth is content. Many projects slip because text, photographs and product details arrive late, and copywriting, photography and translation are separate costs. A Malayalam, Hindi or Tamil version of a site repeats much of the content work.

Performance and search readiness belong in every build. Image optimisation, structured data, redirects and testing on real phones add time, and a quote that leaves them out is not a like-for-like comparison.

Indicative market ranges in INR

The figures below are broad ranges for custom web work from Indian firms in 2026. They are indicative market ranges, not quotes, and they vary with scope, team seniority and the platform chosen.

A brochure site of five to eight pages, built on a template with light customisation, commonly falls between ₹25,000 and ₹80,000. A corporate site with a content management system, custom design, several service pages and basic search setup often falls between ₹80,000 and ₹3,00,000.

A web application with user accounts, dashboards and business rules usually starts around ₹3,00,000 and rises with the complexity of its data and permissions. Ecommerce stores have their own range, covered in our separate guide.

Most vendors add GST at 18 per cent on web design and development services supplied in India. Check whether a quote is shown before or after tax, because the difference is significant.

Costs that appear after launch

The build is only the first line. A domain name costs a few hundred rupees to around ₹1,500 a year, depending on the extension. Hosting ranges from a few hundred rupees a month for a simple site to several thousand for a managed platform with heavier traffic. SSL certificates are now usually free or included with hosting, but they still need renewing and checking.

Then there is maintenance: software and plugin updates, security patches, backups, uptime checks and small fixes. A basic maintenance retainer commonly falls between ₹5,000 and ₹25,000 a month, depending on complexity and the response time agreed. New pages, campaign pages and content changes are separate work, unless your own team can make them in the content management system.

Search work is also continuing. Technical SEO is part of the build, but keyword research, new content, link building and monthly reporting are ongoing tasks. Price them separately so you can see what you are buying each month.

How to compare quotes fairly

Start with the brief. Write down the page list, the purpose of each page, the features the site must have, the integrations and the launch date. Send the same brief to every vendor. A proposal that answers a different brief is hard to compare, however attractive its price looks.

Ask each vendor to show what is included: design rounds, revisions, content entry, mobile testing, accessibility checks, handover training and source code. Confirm who holds the domain, hosting, analytics and search console accounts. A site the vendor controls is harder and more expensive to move later.

Look closely at assumptions. A low quote that expects you to supply all copy, images and translations on time may not be cheap once those tasks are priced. Ask how change requests are charged and how long the support period lasts after launch.

Why speed and search performance belong in the price

A slow site loses visitors before they read anything. Google measures loading speed, responsiveness and visual stability through Core Web Vitals, and these signals form part of how pages are assessed in search. Good performance does not guarantee a top ranking, but a slow site makes every other marketing investment work harder.

For most Indian visitors the phone is the main device, and mobile networks vary a great deal in speed. Light pages, compressed images and careful use of third-party scripts hold up far better than a heavy framework loaded with a dozen tracking tags. These choices are cheap at the start and costly to fix later.

At Enarges Labs, speed and search basics are part of the build, not an extra line. Performance is checked on every release, and each proposal names the platform and our commitments: a first reply within 4 hours during IST business hours, a written proposal with a fixed cost within 48 hours, and a clickable prototype within 7 days.

Is a website cheaper in Kerala than in Bengaluru or Mumbai?

Web work is priced more by the vendor's experience and cost base than by the city. Compare proposals on the same brief, page list and platform, rather than on where the company is located.

Can I build a website myself to save money?

For a simple brochure site, a website builder or a ready-made theme can be a sensible low-cost start, and the outlay is mainly the subscription and domain. Costs rise with custom design, forms linked to a CRM, multilingual content or performance work, and a builder can limit how far the site can grow.

Is SEO included in a website build?

Basic search readiness should be included: clean page structure, fast loading, page titles and descriptions, and redirects if you move from an old address. Ongoing content and link work is a separate service, and you should ask for it to be priced separately.

How long does a corporate website take?

A focused corporate site often takes several weeks from brief to launch, depending on how quickly content and approvals arrive. Enarges sends a written proposal within 48 hours and a clickable prototype within 7 days, so layout and copy can be checked early.
